HOW TO EXPORT?

Export is the sale of a domestically produced product or service abroad in accordance with specific plans, strategies, and laws. Companies in Türkiye play a significant role in the economic development of both the company and the country by generating profits from their sales.

Before commencing exports, individuals and organizations intending to export must become members of the relevant authorities, complete the necessary documentation, and obtain the title of exporter .

After obtaining exporter status, preparations should begin for searching for a suitable market for the product or service to be sold. The selection of a suitable market should be made considering the economic situation of the country where the sale will take place, the need for the product, transportation facilities, and laws.

Once the customer has been identified and the marketplace found , the target customer should be determined. When searching for customers, the number should be increased by utilizing social media, global and local business directories, online advertising, participation in trade shows and events, and online and offline business networks. Necessary commercial agreements should be made in accordance with established procedures.

Once commercial agreements are made, the order is completed when the export product is produced/packaged/made ready for shipment.

After the order is prepared, the most important stage is logistics . Great care must be taken when deciding on the shipping method. Factors such as the size and weight of the product, and the transportation conditions of the country, should be considered when choosing the shipping method. After an agreement is reached with the transport company and loading is completed, the exporting company, the shipping company, and the customs brokerage firm prepare the necessary documents under their respective responsibilities.

HOW TO IMPORT?

Importing is the purchase of goods or services from a foreign country to meet one's needs. There is a balance between imports and exports, and maintaining this balance is crucial.

As with imports and exports, there are certain rules and conditions.

Importers do not need to possess any documents. A natural or legal entity is required to carry out the transaction. For natural persons, their Turkish Republic identity number is sufficient to initiate the import process. Businesses importing for the first time must first register with the Customs Administration.

Next, a decision must be made regarding the product and from which market it will be imported.
